The cabin has a comfortable living area with a full kitchen, espresso &amp; coffee maker, micro wave, refrigerator and a stove with oven. Direct TV and free WiFi.<\/p>\n<p>*The stairs are the original classic narrow stairs that might not be suitable for any &#8216;stair challenged&#8217; guests.<\/p>\n<p>$299-$349<\/p>\n<p>ICE HOUSE HISTORY<\/p>\n<p>An ice house is a building used to store ice throughout the year, commonly used prior to the invention of the refrigerator. They were usually man-made structures and were always close to natural sources of winter ice such as freshwater lakes or ponds.<\/p>\n<p>During the winter, before the McGee Creek Lodge had refrigeration, ice would be harvested from the trout ponds across the original highway (known today as Crowley Lake Drive). The ice would then be taken into the ice house and be packed with insulation (straw or sawdust). The ice would remain frozen for many months, often until the following winter, and could be used as a source of ice during the summer months.
